Please be respectful of the following guidelines for our page:
- Never share personal or account information such as ATM or debit card numbers in your comments.
- Fulton Bank will never contact you online to request this information. We will delete comments that include personal or account information.
- To protect the identity of our customers, we will not address specific customer service issues or account questions on our Facebook page.
- While we encourage constructive, lively and open conversation, we reserve the right to delete comments at our discretion.
- We reserve the right to correct factual errors.
- You may not post anything that is spam, advertising of outside sources or links, a violation of intellectual property or law, abusive, profane or defamatory toward a person, entity or belief. Content that falls into these categories will be removed and anyone posting repeated violations will be banned from the page.
- The financial information posted on Facebook is for general informational purposes and may not be applicable in all situations. Before making decisions about your personal financial situation, you should consult with your banker and other advisors.
- Links to other websites posted here are provided for informational purposes, and Fulton Bank does not guarantee the accuracy of information on other sites or endorse their content.
- We make every effort to provide valuable information and resources. However, Fulton Bank expressly disclaims any liability for damages of any kind whatsoever that arise out of the use of information posted on Facebook.
Protecting your Privacy Online:
- Never open an email from an unknown source. They may contain viruses or other programs that will make your computer vulnerable to intrusion.
- Never click on a link in an email for the purpose of confirming your account information from a financial institution or business. In addition, you should never provide personal information or account data in response to such an email. The email may be fake, sent by “phishing” scammers.
- Be aware of “pharming,” a technique where website users are redirected to replica sites without their knowledge or consent. Watch for odd error messages, unexpected page layout, content, or strange site behavior.
- Choose companies that provide secure transactions and have strong privacy and security policies.
- If you bank online, watch your accounts closely for signs of fraud. Fulton Bank uses 128-bit encryption, the highest level of authentication available to protect your account and personal information.
- To keep hackers from stealing information on your home computer, consider (1) installing a firewall; (2) installing virus protections software and assuring it’s current; (3) updating administrative names and passwords frequently; (4) setting wireless networks to “no broadcast” and (5) turning off your computer when not in use.
- Be wary of downloading anything in an email until you can verify the authenticity of the source. This includes any social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
- When disposing of a computer, remove all storage drives! Do not rely on the “delete” or “trash” function to remove files containing sensitive information.
- Store personal files and back-up data securely in your home, especially if you are employing outside help, live with roommates, or are having service work done. Be sure to turn on all security settings built into your computer and activate passwords protect your computer and files containing sensitive personal or account data.
